Scope of Experience

Kevin Kawaoka has sixteen years of experience with multifamily real estate advisory / investment sales and currently serves as Executive Vice President for NAI Capital Multifamily Services Group in the Los Angeles + South Bay offices.

Background & Experience

Prior to joining NAI, Kawaoka cut his teeth in the commercial real estate industry by interning as a research analyst with Grubb & Ellis. He then built a solid foundation and track record of multifamily investment sales at Sperry Van Ness for a four year period. In 2010 he was recruited to join NAI Capital where he’s earned top sales achievement awards, mentored top performing juniors, and is a member of the NAI Global Multifamily Council.

Education

Kawaoka graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) - Marshall School of Business with a Bachelor of Science, dual emphasis in Real Estate Finance and Entrepreneurship. While at USC he was the recipient of the Ted Komula Business School Scholarship and earned a membership to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Golden Key Honor Society. Aside from academics, he was a member of the USC Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity, a part of the CAP mentoring program and served on the executive board of the Trojan Real Estate Association.

Designation

Kawaoka, a distinguished professional in the commercial and investment real estate industry, holds the esteemed Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. This certification places him among the elite in the field, recognizing his expertise in commercial real estate investments. A notable highlight is his election in 2015 as President of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of CCIM, where he successfully led and served over 200 members. His role in this position underscores his leadership and deep understanding of the industry. Additionally, as a CCIM, Kawaoka is a part of an exclusive, global commercial real estate network. This prestigious group, with members across North America and in over 30 countries, is renowned for its significant market impact, closing thousands of transactions annually and representing a total value exceeding $200 billion. Beyond CCIM, Kawaoka has established membership to a global network of esteemed real estate professional associations.
