A New Redondo Beach Development
Redondo Beach has approved a new residential development at 2819 182nd Street, a six-acre property formerly occupied by a Frontier facility.
The project will feature 158 homes across three-story buildings arranged around private driveways. Plans include 131 townhomes and 27 affordable units.
Approval & Ownership
The site was designated for residential development through the city’s adopted Housing Element, allowing the proposal to receive administrative approval. Mayor Jim Light noted that he would have preferred the property become an employment center, citing Redondo Beach’s imbalance between local jobs and households.
NantWorks, associated with entrepreneur Patrick Soon-Shiong, purchased the property in 2019.
Location & Nearby Projects
The development will sit next to the recently completed Redondo Beach Transit Center and near several other projects planned around the South Bay Galleria, including a previously approved 350-unit housing community.
